1938-2016
Beloved Founder, Partner, Advisor, Mentor and Friend
Mr. Gilliam was a Founder and Senior Managing Partner of, and Senior Advisor to, Manhattan Investment Partners, LLC ("MIP").
He was also Chairman and President of Petroleum Funding Corporation, an affiliate of MIP that provides development financing and equipment leasing services to the oil and gas industry.
Previously, Mr. Gilliam was a Senior Vice President at AMVEST Leasing and Capital Corporation, a major provider of investment and lease financing to the Appalachian oil and gas industry. Prior, he was Vice President for Finance and a Director of Builder Resources Corporation, a national builder of single family home communities. He also served as Vice President of Blyth Eastman Dillon & Co., and was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Gilliam received his BA in English, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University, and his MBA from the Harvard Business School. He was past Chairman of the Harvard Business School Club of Washington, D.C., and was a former Trustee of The National Presbyterian Church and Center. Mr. Gilliam served as Chairman of Virdais, Inc., an Internet-based voice, video and data communications company.
Mr. Gilliam also served as Chairman, and was a Director of In Medias Res, a not-for-profit foundation that supports the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia.
